Greetings Sunshine Preschool Families,

We hope you are all keeping cool during these hot summer months! Below are a few updates on extracurricular classes for the remainder of the year.

Extracurricular Classes

Extracurricular classes have concluded for the summer. Sign ups for the fall semester will be available the week of August 17th, and classes will begin the first week of September. 
We will be offering the following classes from September - December 2026. Note that we'll need a minimum of 5-6 student sign ups to open up each class. 

• Reading on Tuesdays: 
  • Students will be introduced to a structured phonics system that encourages preschoolers to become early readers and develop a love for reading. Students will  learn beginning phonics and sight words. Story time will allow children to listen to expressive reading, engaging them in discussion of story through questions. The teacher will prepare take-home mini-books and homework to reinforce phonics learned in class. Students will be given an Individual folder which contains weekly reading material to review at home. It's important for students to return the folder weekly, so that the teacher can update the material inside. 
• Hip Hop on Wednesdays: 
  • StepOn3 Hip Hop classes are designed to introduce children to the exciting world of hip hop dance. Students will learn foundational moves, rhythm, and coordination in a fun and energetic environment, while building confidence and expressing their creativity. There will be a free showcase in Fremont on November 15th, 2026 (Sunday) for students to show off what they learned. 
• Clay Art on Wednesdays: 
  • Clay Art Class can help expand your child's motivation for thinking and creativity, develop their sensory and motor skills, builds self esteem and self-expression, problem solving, and provides a calming effect through hands-on creations!  
• Soccer on Thursdays:
  • Soccer helps to keep your child fit and active. It builds stamina, agility, and team work. Classes are structured with a combination of skill demonstrations, games, and instructional scrimmages, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.  
• Chinese/English Bilingual Music Class (Ages 2-5 years old) on Fridays :
  • This weekly 30-minute class offers a vibrant musical experience that connects Chinese and English cultures. Students explore traditional Chinese instruments, folk songs, and other musical styles while building language skills through singing, movement, instrument play, and interactive cultural activities.
  • A free demo class for the bilingual music class, ages 2-5 years old, will be offered at the preschool on August 21st, Friday, from 10:30 - 11:00am. If you would like your child to try out, please fill out this google form. There are only 12 spots, so the google form will close when all spots are filled. If the form has already closed and you would like to join the waitlist, please message us via Brightwheel.
