We hope everyone was able to have an amazing start of the school year! This is the September Edition of our Newsletter. Below you will find some helpful reminders and information to help your month go by smoothly! 

Extracurricular Sign-ups!

A friendly reminder that the last day to sign up for Extracurricular Classes is today (Monday, August 28th). 

Please review our available classes here: Fall 2023 Extracurriculars. A brief description of some of our classes can viewed on our Extracurricular Flyer Brochure.

Families may use the following link to sign-up for Extracurricular Classes or turn in a hard copy of the form to your child's lead teacher or to the Sunshine Office by the deadline.

School Holiday
For the month of September, please note that Sunshine School will be CLOSED on Monday, September 4, 2023 to observe Labor Day.

Little Artists Showcase
Sierra and Vinci Park Preschool locations will be holding a Little Artists Showcase at their prospective locations on Friday, September 8th between 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Families are invited to come and appreciate the wonderful works of art that our students have created!

The Dahlia Flower Family Event will also be happening during this time. Come and support our local Dahlia Farms by purchasing dahlias for your family, friends, or teachers. All proceeds will go to Vallejo Street Dahlias.

  

Tuition
Tuition is due by the 1st of every month. Parents may check their balance online at www.mysunshineschool.com. Please pay the amount owed by the 10th of every month or a late fee of 10% will apply. Thank you for your cooperation.

Kindergarten Schedule Change
The schedule for most BUSD Kindergarten students will change beginning Monday, September 11th. For Kindergarten students from Ruskin and Kindergarten students using our transportation services, Sunshine School will pick-up students at the appropriate time of dismissal for their school.

The Dahlia Flower Family Event 
Sunshine School will be holding a special Dahlia Flower Family Event where flowers will be available for purchase on Friday, September 8th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Turlock Office (1363 Turock Lane). Come and support our local Dahlia Farms by purchasing dahlias for your family, friends, or teachers. All proceeds will go to Vallejo Street Dahlias.

October Fall Break
BUSD students will be having their October Fall Break from October 2nd to October 6th. Sunshine School will be open for our Full Day Program during this week for families who need care. Parents who wish to sign up, please fill out the October Fall Break Registration to reserve your spot, as space is limited.

Sunshine will be open from 9:00am to 6:30pm for this week and will be located at the Turlock Classrooms (1363 Turlock Lane). The rate is $400 for all five days (10/2 to 10/6) or $95 per day. The fee will be added to your October tuition. 

Please note: This week is not included in your After School tuition. You will not be charged for this week if you do not sign up for our Full Day Program.                         

FAQ
What should my child bring to Sunshine?

• A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE every day.
• Bring SUNBLOCK (labeled with your child's name) everyday. 
• CUP AND BOWL(S) (labeled with your child's name) for lunch and snack (lunch is provided for TK students only) everyday. Sunshine wants to go green! Help us in our efforts to become less wasteful!
• In addition to these items, Kindergarten students will need to bring ONE CHANGE OF CLOTHES to be kept in their cubby at Sunshine.
