Greetings Sunshine Family,

Next week's theme is S T E M! Students will learn through experimenting with various ideas, materials, and fun activities. All of our classes will be doing science projects this week that involve using plastic bottles. We ask parents to help collect and bring in some bottles. Please, see details below:

• Parents of Yahoo, Twitter, Google & Amazon students, please bring two 500 milliliter plastic bottles for your child to use by Wednesday (6/28)
  
                                                                        
   
• Parents of YouTube and Facebook students, please help bring one 2 liter bottle and one 500 milliliter bottle for your child to use by Wednesday (6/28).

*Sunshine School Spirit Days*
Sunshine will have a different Spirit Day each Friday of Summer! We encourage students to get festive this summer with their friends and teachers. Students can dress up according to the theme each Friday. 

1. Superhero Day on Friday, June 30th
   Calling all superheroes! On this day, students can dress like their favorite superhero!
    
2. Culture Day on Friday, July 7th
   A perfect spirit day for our Around the World Week! Come celebrate your culture at school through traditional dress, props, and accessories!
    
3. Animal Day on Friday, July 14th
   Come dressed as your favorite animal  ^..^
    
4. Disney Day on Friday, July 21st
   Out of all the disney characters to choose from, which one will you come dressed as?!
    
5. Sports Day on Friday, July 28th
   Show us all who your favorite sports team is by wearing your gear today! Jerseys are welcome!
    
6. Twin Day on Friday, August 4th
   Choose a friend (or a teacher!) to twin with on your last day in our summer program!
    

• This week's field trips are to the Intel Museum and to the Children's Discovery Museum. Please, arrive before 9:15 AM on your child's field trip day.

• Amazon, YouTube & Facebook Classes will go to the Intel Museum on Tuesday, June 27th.

• Yahoo, Twitter & Google Classes will go to the Children's Discovery Museum on Thursday, June 29th. 

• For your child's field trip day, parents, please remember to have students wear their yellow sunshine t-shirt and bring a bag lunch (in a disposable bag, to make it easy on children during the field trip). If students do not wear their sunshine t-shirt or bring a bag lunch, they will not be able to go on the field trip. 

• Field Trip Policy - If a student misbehaves during their field trip, he or she is not allowed to attend the next week's field trip as a consequence.

YouTube has Relocated to Room #6
YouTube (3rd Grade Class) has relocated to Room #6 for the time being. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Sunshine Office. 


Student Allergy Information
Parent's please list any ALLERGIES (food or medicine) when you sign in your child on their first day of Sunshine Summer Program. There will be an information sheet for you to list any allergies that your child may have.
 

Early Bird Special Gifts
For parents who registered before the Early Bird Special Deadlines, your children will receive their bonus items on their first day in the Sunshine Summer Program. 


Extracurricular Classes 
Soccer and Zumba Classes started on Wednesday, June 14th (there are no classes on the first two days of summer program). All other extracurricular classes begin the week of June 26th. Extracurricular Class sign-up closed on Friday, June 16th. Parents may view the extracurricular class roster here - Extracurricular Class Roster.
 

Lost & Found 
Lost and found items are located in the Sunshine Office (Room #28, between the Kindergarten Classes). We encourage parents to label all items (clothing, water bottle, cups and bowls, etc.) that your children bring to school with their names. 
 

Items to Bring to School Everyday
Just a quick reminder, please pack these items for your children EVERYDAY -

• Water Bottle 
• Sun Block and a Hat
• 2 Sets of Cups and Bowls
  Plastic is preferred. Please, no glass or ceramic bowls/cups. Thank you!
